Pre-tournament expectations centered on established stars like Mbappé and Messi leveraging club form and national team pedigree, while emerging talents such as Yamal benefited from strong recent international showings. The opening matchdays have introduced further parity through variable minutes, squad depth across 48 teams, and the absence of any dominant individual performances yet.
