Italy's emerging talent, 15-year-old Danilo Faso (world no. 321), showcased breakout potential by sealing a 3-0 team win over Francisco Sanchi in the ITTF Worlds 2026 group stage on May 1, reversing a prior 2025 head-to-head loss, while Croatia benefits from home-crowd energy at the upcoming WTT Contender Zagreb. No confirmed injuries or withdrawals alter the balance, but late lineup announcements, fatigue from Worlds schedule, or stylistic edges in spin-heavy rallies could shift sentiment toward either side.
