CF Montréal and Vancouver Whitecaps enter their Canadian Championship semifinal second leg on September 16 at Stade Saputo following a 1-1 first-leg draw, where Dani Pereira’s long-range wonder goal gave Montréal an early lead before Ryan Gauld equalized. Vancouver sits atop the MLS Western Conference with a 13-4-4 record and strong underlying metrics, while Montréal lingers near the Eastern Conference basement at 5-11-6 after a 7-1 league defeat to Inter Miami. Montreal’s home advantage, recent cup resilience, and key contributions from midfielders like Pereira balance Vancouver’s attacking depth and title-chasing motivation, producing evenly matched implied probabilities for the decisive return fixture.
