This market will resolve to “Yes” if a snap election is called in Denmark between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No.” The calling of a snap election requires the formal dissolution of the Folketing, or another formal scheduling, according to the rules of the jurisdiction, of an election for all members of the Folketing prior to their scheduled election at the end of the parliamentary term. An announcement of an intention to call an election, a failed vote of no confidence, or the collapse of the governing coalition will not by itself qualify toward a “Yes” resolution. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the government of Denmark and the Folketing; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Denmark's recently formed minority coalition government, installed in early June 2026 after the March 24 parliamentary election, has reduced immediate pressure for another snap vote.** Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s Social Democrats lead a centre-left arrangement with the Socialist People’s Party, Radikale Venstre, and Moderates, holding 82 seats and relying on external support from parties such as the Red-Green Alliance. This followed the earlier snap election called in February 2026 amid tensions over Greenland and U.S. policy under President Trump, which delivered a fragmented result but allowed Frederiksen to secure a third term through extended coalition talks. As of mid-September 2026, no major legislative defeats, coalition fractures, or shifts in parliamentary arithmetic have emerged that would typically trigger an early dissolution. Ongoing diplomatic efforts, including a forthcoming U.S.-Greenland security agreement slated for signature at the UN General Assembly, have instead channeled political attention toward foreign and security policy continuity rather than domestic instability. Danish law permits snap elections before the next scheduled vote around 2030, yet the short timeframe to December 31 leaves little room for the type of sudden crisis or strategic calculation that historically prompts them. Traders therefore assign the high implied probability to the absence of any catalyst strong enough to upend the post-election settlement so soon after its formation.
