This market will resolve according to the person who is appointed as the next permanent manager of the Philadelphia Phillies. If no permanent manager is appointed by January 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other." Appointments of 'interim,' 'caretaker,' or other non-permanent managers will not impact this market's resolution. An announcement of a new permanent manager's appointment before this market's close date will immediately resolve this market to the corresponding option, regardless of when the announced appointment goes into effect. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Philadelphia Phillies; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Alex Cora leads the market at 29.8% due to his established relationship with president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski and the prior job offer extended after Rob Thomson’s April 2026 dismissal.** Cora declined initially to focus on family following his own Red Sox firing but remains widely viewed as the top external candidate for 2027 unless interim manager Don Mattingly delivers a deep playoff run or World Series appearance. Mattingly (12.0%) has overseen a strong turnaround to a 70-58 record and NL East contention but faces a high retention threshold. David Ross (19.1%) and Carlos Beltrán (18.6%) rank next as experienced options with front-office ties or playing pedigrees, while Will Venable, Joe Girardi, and others reflect broader speculation in a fluid offseason process that could shift with late-season results or additional candidates entering the mix.
