Both nations rode undefeated group-stage sweeps at the recent ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals London 2026—North Korea topping Group H 3-0 over Poland, New Zealand, and Australia, while Hong Kong dominated Group C 3-0—instilling momentum into their singles representatives. Absent confirmed injuries or withdrawals from official reports in the last 48 hours, developments like lineup announcements, stylistic edges in spin-heavy rallies or service receive, or fatigue from team duties could tip the scales in this best-of-seven format.
