Juan Manuel Cerundolo holds a significant edge over Giulio Zeppieri in their Barcelona Open qualifying first-round clash on clay, backed by a 2-0 head-to-head record from prior Challenger encounters and a superior ATP ranking of No. 71 versus Zeppieri's No. 164. The Argentine left-hander, a clay-court specialist, arrives after a recent Monte Carlo qualifying exit to Valentin Vacherot but boasts strong recent form including a Rio quarterfinal run, while the Italian lefty faltered in a Thionville Challenger round-of-16 loss on indoor hard. No reported injuries affect either; mild Barcelona weather favors baseline rallies, underscoring Cerundolo's stylistic matchup advantages and trader consensus on his advancement potential in this ATP 500 qualifier.
