In the ATP Challenger Madrid on red clay, Pablo Llamas Ruiz (ATP 152) and Alejandro Moro Canas (ATP 234) meet in the round of 16 after straight advancements from the first round. Llamas Ruiz grinded out a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 win over Frederico Ferreira Silva two days ago, extending momentum from his Alicante Challenger final last week where he pushed Pablo Carreno Busta. Moro Canas dispatched Henry Bernet 2-0 more comfortably. Moro leads their head-to-head 4-2, including clay wins, though Llamas Ruiz took their most recent clash on indoor hard in January. Both Spanish clay specialists benefit from home conditions and no reported injuries, promising a tight matchup shaped by endurance and baseline rallies.
