Both teams enter the July 24 matchup with strong 2026 records, as Edmonton sits at 5-1 atop the West Division after a narrow 19-17 home win over BC, while Saskatchewan stands at 4-1 and returns from a bye. The road contest pits Edmonton's resurgent offense, led by quarterback Cody Fajardo and running back Justin Rankin, against a Saskatchewan squad that has shown defensive resilience and home advantage in recent seasons. Key recent developments include offensive line injuries for the Elks (multiple starters listed as out) that could affect pass protection and run blocking, alongside Saskatchewan's limited availability for several skill players. Traders appear to weigh the Riders' rest and divisional familiarity heavily against Edmonton's momentum and improved overall roster depth from the prior year.
