**Trader consensus centers on an 84-85°F high (49.5% implied probability) for Los Angeles on August 29, followed by 82-83°F (27.5%), reflecting National Weather Service and model guidance for a modest cooldown from the preceding extreme heat.** Recent forecasts show sunny conditions with southwest onshore flow and sea breezes moderating daytime maxima, particularly at coastal and airport stations (LAX area guidance near 81-83°F) while downtown or inland spots trend higher (mid-80s to low-90s in some runs). This follows extreme heat warnings through August 28, when readings reached the mid-90s to near 100°F in parts of the basin amid weak offshore flow. The Pacific high and typical late-August marine layer influence are expected to limit further intensification, keeping values near seasonal norms (historical August average high around 77-80°F at LAX, with records well above 90°F). Minor model spread on exact sea-breeze timing and boundary-layer mixing supports the tight clustering around the mid-80s, with lower-probability tails reflecting uncertainty in localized heating or any late-day clearing. Final NWS updates and observational data on the 29th will resolve the market.
