Recent polling has positioned Democratic nominee Brian Poindexter as the frontrunner in Ohio’s 7th congressional district, shifting trader consensus toward a Democratic victory at 77 percent. Surveys from early August showed Poindexter ahead by double digits in one case and narrowly leading in another, building on earlier competitive results in a district that supported Trump by 11 points in 2024. Republican incumbent Max Miller’s reelection margin narrowed to 51 percent in 2024 amid a crowded field, and recent reports of personal allegations have drawn attention during the general election campaign. Both candidates cleared their primaries in May, with the November 3 general election now three months away. These developments explain the market’s current pricing despite traditional ratings that still view the seat as leaning or likely Republican.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
