Thailand's Constitutional Court accepted a 6-3 petition on March 18 challenging the February 8 general election ballots over barcodes and QR codes potentially compromising voter secrecy, ordering the Election Commission to respond within 15 days amid extensions for evidence. Trader consensus at 89.5% "No" reflects the EC's defense of the design as non-traceable, parliament's swift certification of results, and confirmation of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul via coalition vote on March 19, with a new cabinet now operational. Absent breakthrough evidence in ongoing proceedings, practical barriers to annulling a nationwide poll—echoing rare precedents like 2006 and 2014—bolster expectations of upheld outcomes despite lingering legal scrutiny.
