Trader consensus on Polymarket prices the Austin metro area's median home value on April 30 at roughly $423,000, with tightly contested implied probabilities—27.5% for 423-427k, 22.5% for 419-423k, and 20% for 427-431k—highlighting uncertainty in end-month positioning. March Austin Board of Realtors data pegged metro median sales price at $426,220, down 3% year-over-year, while Zillow's Home Value Index stood near $425,000 as of late February, amid 5-6% annual declines. Surging inventory (up 17%+), extended days on market (85-91), and persistent 6-7% mortgage rates foster a buyer's market, capping appreciation; steady tech-sector demand and moderating supply growth provide downside support. Swing factors include April transaction volumes and local employment prints ahead of resolution.
