I Wen Wan, a 19-year-old from Chinese Taipei with a WTA ranking near 1004 and recent senior ITF experience, faces 16-year-old Australian junior Angel Warang in the ITF W15 Brisbane 2. Warang, ranked around ITF junior 336 and previously a top-10 U14 player, brings strong domestic junior results but limited senior-level matches on the hard courts typical for Brisbane events. Home-country advantage and recent form on Australian surfaces could factor into early-round dynamics, while Wan's age and exposure to professional schedules provide a baseline edge in consistency. The matchup highlights a classic experience-versus-potential contest at this entry-level tournament stage, with outcomes often hinging on serving reliability and error rates under match pressure.
