Alyssa Ahn holds a substantial edge over Jessica Bernales in the ITF W15 Rancho Santa Fe first-round match on hard courts, driven by her WTA ranking near 900 and prior professional exposure including a 2025 US Open appearance. Ahn, a Stanford product, brings more recent ITF match play despite a straight-sets loss to Katherine Hui in San Diego the prior week. Bernales, a 20-year-old transferring to UCLA after time at Michigan, has compiled limited pro results with a modest 12-12 career ITF record and remains outside the WTA top rankings. The hard-court surface favors Ahn’s established baseline game, while Bernales’ college schedule offers fewer comparable high-pressure outings. Trader consensus reflects these gaps in experience and recent form heading into the July 8 encounter.
