The Austrian Bundesliga's 2026-27 runner-up race remains tightly bunched due to genuine parity across the league after LASK claimed the 2025-26 title ahead of Sturm Graz. Defending champions LASK enter with strong squad depth and continuity, while Sturm Graz build on consecutive strong finishes under new manager Fabio Ingolitsch. Red Bull Salzburg continue a lengthy title drought amid ongoing rebuild efforts, creating openings for challengers. Traditional powers Austria Wien and Rapid Wien, along with Wolfsberger AC and others, benefit from balanced pre-season transfers, solid recent form, and favorable schedule spots that keep multiple sides in realistic contention for second place. Trader consensus reflects this competitive depth, with no side holding a decisive edge in historical head-to-heads or current momentum.
