Both French players meet on clay at the ITF W35 Casablanca, where recent form and ranking history shape expectations. Emma Lene, 26, holds a career-high WTA ranking of 351 and enters with a 11-6 record this season, showing steadier results on the surface after advancing in prior Casablanca events. Sarah Iliev, 19, peaked at 550 and carries an 11-10 mark, relying on strong recent wins including against local competition in the same tournament. Their lone prior meeting saw Lene prevail in straight sets in January 2024. Doubles partnership in Casablanca adds familiarity, while travel and match scheduling within the event could influence recovery and energy levels for the singles clash.
