Yidi Yang enters the ITF W35 Zhengzhou hard-court match as the higher-ranked player (around WTA No. 303-313) with a stronger 2026 record of roughly 25-16, including recent wins at W50 and W100 events in Wuning against players like Kira Pavlova and Yufei Ren. The 26-year-old has shown consistent form on hard courts this season. Junhan Zhang, a 19-year-old ranked near No. 658 with a 15-19 record, has notched qualifier successes and a first-round win over Yufei Ren but faces a step up in competition level. The pair met once before in 2025, with Yang prevailing in three sets. Both players are Chinese and familiar with the surface, though Yang’s experience and ranking edge shape the current market positioning ahead of the June 17 encounter.
