This market will resolve to the player who wins the 2026 American League Rookie of the Year award for the 2026 MLB Season. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official winner as determined by MLB rules. If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 MLB season is cancelled, postponed after December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Major League Baseball; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Kevin McGonigle has established himself as the clear AL Rookie of the Year frontrunner through elite production at shortstop for the Tigers, including leading qualified rookies in hits, on-base percentage, and walks relative to strikeouts while posting strong overall value metrics. His selection as a 2026 All-Star at age 21 further reinforces trader consensus around his consistency across a full season. Munetaka Murakami ranks second after a high-OPS start with the White Sox but lost ground following a Grade 2 hamstring strain in late May that sidelined him for an extended period before his recent return. The rest of the field, including players like Kazuma Okamoto and Samuel Basallo, trails significantly due to lower volume, less impactful stats, or limited big-league exposure to date.
