The Chicago Cubs (38-36) host the struggling Colorado Rockies (28-46) at Wrigley Field with Javier Assad starting against rookie left-hander Sean Sullivan. Chicago enters with solid home form and a stronger overall roster despite recent pitching injuries thinning their staff, while Colorado continues to battle one of the league’s weakest records amid multiple IL placements affecting their rotation and outfield. Key factors include day-to-day availability for Rockies hitters like Mickey Moniak and the matchup dynamics at a pitcher-friendly venue. Trader consensus reflects the Cubs’ advantages in recent series results and standings positioning.
