**No perfect game has occurred in the 2026 MLB season through mid-September, leaving the total at the historical mark of 24 (last thrown by Domingo Germán in 2023).** With the regular season ending September 27, only a handful of games remain, sharply limiting opportunities. Perfect games demand a starter retire all 27 batters without allowing any baserunner via hit, walk, hit-by-pitch, or error—an outcome made rarer by contemporary factors including strict pitch-count management, early bullpen deployment, matchup-specific relief usage, and advanced analytics that favor specialized arms over complete-game efforts. No recent developments, such as dominant outings or injury recoveries among top starters, have altered this baseline scarcity. Trader consensus at 95% on “No” aligns with the low historical frequency (roughly one every several thousand games) and the abbreviated schedule window ahead.
