The St. Louis Cardinals (10-8, third in NL Central) head to loanDepot park for a three-game series starting April 20 against the Miami Marlins (9-10, second in NL East), with Max Meyer (1-0, 4.12 ERA) slated to start for Miami opposite a Cardinals TBD. Cardinals hold steady at 5-5 over their last 10 games, while Marlins limp in at 3-7 L10 following a recent 6-3 loss to the Braves on April 15. Key absences include Cardinals OF Lars Nootbaar (60-day IL, heel) and Marlins OFs Griffin Conine (hamstring) and Esteury Ruiz (oblique, out until mid-May), thinning outfields and pressuring lineups. Marlins home advantage and Meyer’s early strikeout prowess (20 K) counter Cardinals’ superior record, but Miami’s bullpen depth remains a vulnerability in this evenly matched early-season tilt.
