Klay Thompson enters the 2026 offseason in the final year of his three-year, $50 million Mavericks contract worth roughly $17.5 million, creating a fluid situation where Dallas holds a narrow 51% implied probability edge while a wide field of teams clusters between 43% and 50%. Recent reporting highlights trade interest from championship contenders including the Miami Heat, who view Thompson as a priority addition for shooting depth via potential buyout or deal, alongside monitoring from Denver, Cleveland, and others seeking veteran perimeter help. With no immediate roster pressure on Dallas and Thompson's age and production factoring into negotiations, the tight spread across destinations reflects trader consensus on an unsettled market where buyout scenarios, salary matching, and late-summer roster needs could shift outcomes rapidly before training camp.
