Shinji Hazawa enters the first-round matchup at the M25 Brisbane on outdoor hard courts as the clear ranking favorite, sitting roughly 400 spots ahead of 19-year-old Australian Lachlan McFadzean. Hazawa’s greater professional experience and recent hard-court activity in the region give him an edge in consistency and shot-making depth, while McFadzean benefits from local support and familiarity with Australian conditions. Both players have limited recent results at this level, leaving room for form fluctuations typical in ITF events. No confirmed injuries or withdrawals have altered the draw, keeping the focus on baseline play and return effectiveness on the faster surface.
