The wide-open MLB ERA leader market reflects a crowded field where no pitcher has separated decisively with under three weeks remaining. Qualification hinges on sufficient innings—typically around 162 for official leaderboards—favoring durable starters like Jacob Misiorowski (near 1.95 ERA with substantial volume) and Cam Schlittler over lower-innings standouts such as Shohei Ohtani (1.79 ERA but limited to roughly 85 IP). Recent form, September schedule difficulty, and bullpen support further differentiate contenders including Dylan Cease, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Max Fried, as late surges or injuries can shift the leaderboard rapidly in a season without a clear statistical frontrunner. Trader consensus prices capture this uncertainty and the potential for multiple viable paths to the lowest mark.
