Walters enters as the higher-ranked player at approximately No. 884 against Ivanov's No. 1082 in this first-round ITF M15 Monastir match on outdoor hard courts. The 28-year-old Briton holds a modest experience edge over the 21-year-old Russian, whose career high reached 817 last year. Both players focus primarily on the ITF circuit with limited ATP-level activity in 2026, posting mixed hard-court results in recent weeks. No prior head-to-head record exists between them, leaving form, physical readiness after travel to Tunisia, and adaptation to the conditions as the primary variables in what is typically a competitive early-round encounter at this level.
