Alejandro Tabilo holds a significant edge in the first-round Geneva Open clash on clay, backed by his ATP ranking near 35 and stronger recent results on the surface compared to Stan Wawrinka. The 28-year-old left-hander brings consistent baseline movement and a recent head-to-head win over the veteran in Monte Carlo, while Wawrinka at age 41 relies on his one-handed backhand power and experience in a home event where he captured titles in 2016 and 2017. However, Tabilo’s withdrawal due to a recurring wrist issue has reshuffled the draw, replacing him with a lucky loser and leaving Wawrinka to face an unranked opponent instead. This late change underscores the unpredictable nature of late-career scheduling for the Swiss player ahead of his likely final French Open appearance.
