Gian van Veen enters this World Series of Darts encounter as the clear favorite, backed by his status as a top-ranked PDC player with recent strong showings including a 2026 World Championship final appearance and consistent high averages in televised events. Raymond Smith, an Australian qualifier with solid domestic results on the ADA and DPA tours, has shown capable scoring but limited success against elite international opposition, as evidenced by recent defeats in the New Zealand Darts Masters. The matchup favors van Veen’s superior consistency, checkout finishing, and experience in high-stakes formats, though the 62% implied probability reflects Smith’s potential home-soil advantage and the inherent variability of darts scoring. No reported injuries affect either player.
