Darwin Blanch enters as the slight ranking favorite at No. 254 against Duje Ajdukovic (No. 291) in the Sarasota Challenger quarterfinals on outdoor clay, buoyed by home-crowd energy as an 18-year-old American lefty. Both advanced yesterday: Ajdukovic dispatched Sascha Gueymard Wayenburg 2-0 with steady baseline play, while Blanch claimed a 6-3, 1-1 ret. win. No head-to-head exists, pitting Blanch's powerful serve and rising momentum—fresh off Miami Masters highlights—against Ajdukovic's clay-suited grinding from his career-high No. 105 peak. Recent form favors the veteran Croat on this surface, but Blanch's youth and aggression fuel trader interest in an upset potential amid clear weather conditions.
