Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner advanced to the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters final with straight-sets semifinal victories Saturday—Alcaraz over hometown wild card Valentin Vacherot 6-4, 6-4, and Sinner past Alexander Zverev—setting up a winner-takes-all clash for the ATP No. 1 ranking on outdoor clay Sunday. Alcaraz, the defending champion and three-time finalist here, leads their head-to-head 10-6, including clay wins at Roland Garros semifinals and Beijing, though Sinner claimed their latest encounter at the ATP Finals. Both opened clay season strongly without sets dropped early, but Alcaraz's superior Monte Carlo record (two titles) and topspin-heavy baseline game give him edge on the slow surface, while Sinner's flat power poses upset threat amid tight trader consensus.
