Tomas Martin Etcheverry enters as the trader-favored pick against Nuno Borges in the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell second round on clay, buoyed by his superior 2026 clay record of 13-3 overall 18-8, including a Rio title and a career 305-158 clay win tally at ATP #29 ranking. Borges, ATP #50 with a modest 1-2 clay mark this year before straight-sets 6-3 6-4 upset of Adrian Mannarino in R1 via 10 aces and 38 winners, holds a 1-0 head-to-head edge from January's Auckland hard-court three-setter. Etcheverry advanced when #8 seed Jack Draper retired at 6-3 6-3 4-1 in R1; no injuries reported for either, with outdoor clay conditions and Borges' baseline resilience key variables in this ATP 500 clash.
