Jack Draper, the No. 25 seed boosted by Felix Auger-Aliassime's recent withdrawal, opens his 2026 clay season against clay-court specialist No. 30 Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the Barcelona Open Round of 32. Etcheverry leads their head-to-head 2-0 with a 4-1 sets edge, showcasing superior clay matchups previously. Fresh off a third-round loss to Carlos Alcaraz in Monte-Carlo last week—his latest clay exposure—Etcheverry brings rhythm and baseline endurance honed on the surface. Draper, skipping Monte-Carlo, tests his powerful lefty serve and groundstrokes in a best-of-three-sets encounter outdoors, where mild April weather poses minimal disruption. Trader consensus weighs Draper's ranking and upside against Etcheverry's surface affinity and historical edge in this closely contested ATP 500 clash.
