In the ATP Challenger Mexico City quarterfinals on outdoor clay, seventh-seeded Luka Pavlovic (No. 200) faces local hopeful Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez (No. 270), with trader consensus reflecting a tight matchup after both advanced via gritty Round of 16 wins on April 9. Pavlovic survived Aidan Mayo 6-1, 3-6, 7-6(8) following a three-set R32 over Facundo Mena, logging over four hours on court and dropping sets in both. Pacheco, riding a 5-1 clay record this year, dominated Mackenzie McDonald 6-2, 6-2 before outlasting qualifier Bor Artnak 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. Their 1-1 head-to-head tilts Pacheco's way via a decisive 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 win last week in San Luis Potosi, bolstered by home-crowd energy and superior break-point conversion (43% vs. Pavlovic's 30%). No injury concerns reported, though Pavlovic's fatigue from longer matches could factor.
