DK Metcalf enters the 2026 regular season as the Pittsburgh Steelers’ primary wide receiver under quarterback Aaron Rodgers and new offensive coordinator Mike McCarthy, following a 2025 campaign limited to 59 receptions and 850 yards in 15 games after his mid-offseason trade from Seattle. A late-August contract restructure created nearly $18 million in cap space while signaling long-term commitment through 2029, and Metcalf has drawn strong praise from Rodgers for his training-camp performance, with the quarterback emphasizing plans to target him early and often as the clear No. 1 option. An undisclosed injury sidelined him for much of camp, but he returned to practice and is expected to be available for the Week 1 opener against Atlanta alongside fellow returnee Michael Pittman Jr. and added depth including rookie Germie Bernard. These elements—health clearance, elevated target expectations in a revised scheme, and competition for looks—shape trader assessments of his full-season reception total.
