Alexis Nguyen, an 18-year-old American ranked around 730 in the WTA standings and 458 on the ITF ladder, faces 22-year-old Jo-Yee Chan, ranked near 980 WTA, in this ITF Los Angeles hard-court encounter. Nguyen brings recent junior success and a strong U.S. college commitment, though her 2026 ITF results include a straight-sets loss in Lakewood. Chan enters with momentum from college doubles and singles achievements at San Diego State plus ITF wins over Kosan and Aulia on comparable California hard courts. Both players compete on outdoor hard courts with limited prior head-to-head history, making recent form, physical freshness, and adaptation to the specific draw conditions the primary variables influencing outcomes.
