This market will resolve according to the individual who is announced as the next head coach of the Men’s Basketball team at the University of North Carolina. Interim coaches will not qualify. If no new coach is named by November 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market is official information from the University of North Carolina; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Trader consensus on Polymarket reflects a wide-open UNC Tar Heels coaching search following Hubert Davis' firing three days ago after a first-round NCAA Tournament loss to VCU, with odds tightly clustered around 38-41% across leaders Tommy Lloyd, Dusty May, Todd Golden, and Billy Donovan amid a deep field of power-conference standouts and NBA pedigrees. Arizona's Lloyd edges ahead slightly on his Elite Eight consistency and top recruiting prowess, while Michigan State's May and Florida's Golden draw support from rapid program builds; Donovan's Bulls role and two national titles at Florida add intrigue despite college return risks. Iowa State's T.J. Otzelberger reportedly withdrew yesterday, yet probabilities hold steady as UNC's executive search firm signals aggressive pursuit beyond "Carolina Family," NIL commitments, and a top-10 incoming class heightening competition in this blue-blood coaching carousel.
