Tesla shares closed September 9 at approximately $367.81 amid ongoing investor assessment of the September 3 Cybercab launch and subsequent NHTSA investigation into the vehicle’s safety certification. The stock rebounded nearly 4% on September 8 after an initial post-event selloff of about 6%, reflecting traders’ focus on robotaxi rollout progress versus regulatory and production hurdles. With year-to-date performance down roughly 18% and 52-week range spanning $297–$499, sentiment remains sensitive to autonomous-vehicle milestones and broader equity flows. Next key catalyst is the October 21 earnings release, while analyst consensus targets sit near $390. High beta and trading volumes underscore the potential for intraday swings to determine today’s settlement relative to any threshold.
