Top-seeded Mirra Andreeva, ranked No. 10 with a strong 14-6 YTD record and affinity for clay, advanced to the Upper Austria Ladies Linz semifinals by outlasting Sorana Cirstea in three sets during her quarterfinal yesterday, following a straight-sets win over Sloane Stephens. Facing her is No. 87 Elena-Gabriela Ruse, who notched her first WTA 500 semifinal via a stunning quarterfinal upset of fourth seed Jelena Ostapenko, after edging Katie Boulter in tiebreaks in the first round and defeating Dayana Yastremska. Their head-to-head stands at 1-1, with Ruse prevailing in the third round of the 2026 Australian Open on hardcourt; this indoor clay matchup tests Andreeva's surface edge against Ruse's momentum from three straight wins.
