World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, the defending Monte Carlo Masters champion with an 8-1 clay record here including last year's title run, holds strong trader consensus favoritism into this semi-final against local hero Valentin Vacherot on the red clay at Monte Carlo Country Club. Vacherot etched history as the first Monegasque to reach the quarterfinals and semifinals in the Open Era, stunning Hubert Hurkacz in the third round before saving 13 break points to upset fifth seed Alex de Minaur in Friday's thriller. No prior head-to-head exists, but Alcaraz's superior rankings, power baseline game, and recent straight-sets quarterfinal bagel over Alexander Bublik underscore his edge, tempered by Vacherot's momentum, home-crowd boost, and resilient returning amid grueling five-setters. No fresh injury concerns for either, with clear conditions forecast.
