Amazon’s Q2 2026 results, released days ago, showed management lifting full-year cash CapEx guidance to $220 billion from the prior ~$200 billion target, primarily to accommodate elevated AI-related memory costs and sustained demand for AWS infrastructure. Trailing-twelve-month spending already exceeds $150 billion, fueled by a 37 percent year-over-year increase in AWS revenue and broad capacity constraints expected to persist through 2028. This positions 2026 CapEx well above historical levels while reflecting the company’s willingness to accept near-term free-cash-flow pressure for longer-term compute leadership. Traders will monitor upcoming quarterly updates for any further revisions tied to memory pricing, customer commitments, or shifts in capital allocation priorities.
