**Current National Weather Service guidance and ensemble models project an Atlanta high on August 30 near 87–90 °F, with the market’s leading 88–89 °F bin (37.5 %) and 86–87 °F bin (29 %) reflecting this tight consensus.** Light southeast flow, dew points near 71–73 °F, and partly sunny skies will support modest heat indices, while a 30–40 % chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms—typical for late-summer instability—introduces the main uncertainty by reducing insolation and potentially capping the daily maximum a degree or two below the thermodynamic potential. Minor variations in storm timing, cloud cover, or boundary-layer mixing could shift the peak between the 86–91 °F range that collectively holds over 85 % of the probability. Historical climatology (mean high ~87 °F) and the absence of major model shifts in the 48-hour window keep sentiment clustered around the upper 80s rather than the lower-probability 90-plus outcomes.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=katl
This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button.
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F.
This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
