Narendra Modi's third term as Prime Minister, secured in the 2024 general election, extends through June 2029 under India's parliamentary system, with the next Lok Sabha elections not due until 2029 absent an early dissolution. Recent developments reinforce stability, including his June 2026 milestone as India's longest continuously serving elected prime minister, surpassing Jawaharlal Nehru's record amid ongoing coalition governance with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance. No legislative votes, no-confidence motions, or internal party challenges have emerged to threaten his position before the end of 2026. Trader consensus on the "No" outcome at over 90% reflects this structural timeline and absence of near-term catalysts for a leadership transition.
