**Sydney Swans’ dominant 2026 campaign and Essendon’s struggles underpin the strong trader consensus favoring the Swans at 85.5% implied probability.** The Swans sit second on the ladder (17-5) after a strong run that includes multiple 90+ point wins and consistent high scoring (averaging over 110 points in recent outings), fueled by standout performances from Errol Gulden, Charlie Curnow, and Chad Warner. Essendon (near the bottom at 2-19/20) have managed just one win in their last five and average under 60 points while conceding heavily, hampered by an extensive injury list featuring long-term absences for key players such as Nic Martin, Jordan Ridley, Darcy Parish, and others. Recent head-to-head results, including Sydney’s 36-point victory in Round 23 at the MCG with a nine-goal opening term, further highlight the mismatch in form, midfield dominance, and forward efficiency. Swans’ finals positioning and depth provide additional stability heading into the final rounds.
