Apple’s September 9 event, just days away, is the dominant near-term catalyst for the foldable iPhone pricing market, with the device widely expected to debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models. Analyst consensus from JPMorgan, TrendForce, and Ming-Chi Kuo points to a starting price of $1,999–$2,299 for the base 256 GB model—placing it in a new premium tier well above the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s $1,199 launch price and roughly matching the Galaxy Z Fold7. Higher storage tiers could reach $2,500–$3,000. Supply-chain reports highlight a book-style design with a ~5.5-inch cover and ~7.8-inch inner OLED, Touch ID, and production yields that may constrain early availability. Traders are pricing in Apple’s first-gen premium positioning while watching for any last-minute shifts in the official announcement.
