Current National Weather Service and ensemble forecasts indicate a Friday night low near 56°F for Chicago on September 25, driven by persistent easterly flow off Lake Michigan, extensive cloud cover limiting radiative cooling, and a stable air mass with dew points in the low 50s. These conditions align closely with climatological averages of 54–55°F for the date while suppressing both sharp cold advection that could push readings to 47°F or below and warm southerly flow needed for 66°F or higher. Model consensus shows low spread through the event, with traders pricing uncertainty around minor timing shifts in cloud breaks or wind direction that could alter the overnight minimum by a few degrees.
