In the Bucharest Open qualification on outdoor clay, No. 2 seed Daniel Merida Aguilar (ATP 135, career-high reached March 2026) holds a clear edge over Saba Purtseladze (ATP 281) in their first head-to-head matchup. Merida enters with strong momentum from multiple Challenger wins in February 2026, including upsets over higher-ranked foes, bolstering his serve and baseline consistency on clay. Purtseladze, meanwhile, arrives off back-to-back clay losses last week in Murcia qualifiers and Naples Round of 32, exposing second-serve vulnerabilities. No injuries reported; mild Bucharest weather favors steady play, with Merida's ranking and form driving trader consensus toward his advancement.
