Vacherot, the first Monegasque to reach this stage, fueled trader interest with his epic quarter-final survival against fifth seed Alex de Minaur—saving 13 break points amid heavy physical toll from prior grinds over Juan Manuel Cerundolo and Hubert Hurkacz. No prior head-to-head exists on clay, where Alcaraz's superior rankings, power baseline game, and Monte Carlo title defense contrast Vacherot's home-crowd boost and underdog resilience, though fatigue could limit the latter's return pressure in this first Masters 1000 semi-final appearance.
