World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz faces surging local qualifier Valentin Vacherot in the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters semi-finals on clay, their first head-to-head encounter. Vacherot has scripted a historic run as the first Monegasque to reach this stage, stunning Hubert Hurkacz in the third round before rallying past Alex de Minaur in the quarters, saving 13 break points amid raucous home support at his training club. Alcaraz, the defending champion with a flawless 3-0 record this week including straight-sets demolition of Alexander Bublik, brings elite topspin, sliding movement, and rally tolerance honed on clay. Vacherot's fatigue from five matches and step-up in class against Alcaraz's baseline dominance shape trader focus, with crowd energy a potential X-factor.
