Teenaged Spaniard Rafael Jodar, ranked No. 55 with surging momentum, faces Camilo Ugo Carabelli, No. 64, in the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell round of 16 on clay. Jodar dominated their head-to-head clash just 11 days ago, crushing Carabelli 6-2, 6-1 in the Marrakech semifinals en route to the title, showcasing superior baseline power and movement. Both advanced via straight-sets wins: Jodar over compatriot Jaume Munar, Carabelli via upset of higher-ranked Karen Khachanov. As a local talent on familiar outdoor clay with home crowd support, Jodar enters with rest advantage post-Marrakech triumph, while Carabelli's grinding Argentine clay style poses upset potential if rallies extend. No reported injuries; match conditions favor steady servers amid mild Barcelona spring weather.
