The 2026–27 2. Bundesliga features unusual parity after several Bundesliga sides (VfL Wolfsburg, 1. FC Heidenheim, FC St. Pauli, Holstein Kiel) joined established 2. Bundesliga clubs such as 1. FC Nürnberg, Hertha BSC, and Hannover 96, alongside promoted sides like VfL Osnabrück and FC Energie Cottbus. Early matchday results show no clear frontrunner, while pre-season squad stability, transfer activity, and home/away splits remain comparable across the group. This balance of experience, resources, and fixture difficulty keeps implied probabilities tightly clustered, with runner-up outcomes hinging on sustained form rather than any single standout advantage.

If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to finish as runner-up of 2. Bundesliga for the 2026-27 season per the rules of 2. Bundesliga (e.g., the participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No".
If multiple teams are declared as second-place finishers, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If this event is cancelled, postponed after July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a runner-up has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be official information from the 2. Bundesliga; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
